Pashinyan, Modi discuss Armenia-India ties in Bishkek

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenpress, that PM Pashinyan is in Bishkek to participate in the SCO Plus-format meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and events to be held within its framework.

The Armenian Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout that Pashinyan and Modi expressed satisfaction with the development of Armenia-India relations and emphasized the importance of taking joint steps to elevate cooperation to a new level.

Nikol Pashinyan and Narendra Modi stressed that Armenia-India friendship has always been strong and expressed readiness to continue efforts to further deepen it.

The Prime Ministers discussed the development of cooperation in the areas of economy, technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, education, infrastructure, investment and tourism.

It was emphasized that the further organization of high-level mutual visits would contribute to deepening the partnership and implementing new joint programs.

Prime Minister Pashinyan reaffirmed his invitation to the Indian Prime Minister to visit Armenia at a convenient time and expressed his readiness to also visit India on an appropriate occasion.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of regional importance. In particular, they discussed progress in the implementation of the TRIPP project.
