Zakharova: Visa rules would hurt Armenians most

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Armenian authorities would primarily harm their own citizens if they decided to introduce a visa regime with Russia.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Zakharova said this to reporters on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

“If Armenia suddenly introduces visas as well, it will not be introducing them against us; it will be introducing them against its own citizens,” the diplomat said. She also noted that such measures would affect Russian citizens who have many relatives in Armenia.
