10 killed, 6 injured in fuel tanker blast in western Iran

The governor of Sanandaj, Iran, said that at least 10 people were killed and six others injured after a fuel tanker crashed, exploded and caught fire on the Sanandaj-Hamadan road in western Iran.

Axar.az reports, citing Iran International, that the tanker was traveling from Hamadan toward Marivan when a technical failure in its braking system caused the accident, according to the governor.

He said firefighters had brought the blaze under control, adding that the casualty figures were based on initial reports.
