Iranian forces have attacked vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that the sounds heard in the area were caused by vessels violating the rules in the Strait of Hormuz being punished, adding that no explosions had occurred in the region.

No further details about the attack were provided.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement saying it attacked three oil tankers transiting “unauthorised” routes in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as three US-affiliated vessels “in other areas”.

It is noted that the attacks were carried out in response to U.S. strikes on Iranian oil tankers.
