Ukrainian lawmaker warns of difficult winter ahead

Ukrainian MP Solomiia Bobrovska said that the Ukrainian authorities should stop making optimistic promises and openly warn citizens about the potentially severe challenges they may face during the upcoming heating season.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Bobrovska urged Ukrainians not to rely on reassuring statements, but to take steps to ensure their safety and prepare for the cold weather in advance.

She also stressed that people should realistically assess the risks and take concrete measures to survive difficult conditions.

“We need to tell society the truth about the winter, not brush it off with promises. Prepare, stock up on supplies, leave Kyiv, buy firewood,” she said.

According to Bobrovska, citizens should gather essential household supplies in advance and, where possible, consider temporarily leaving the capital for places offering more suitable living conditions.
