One dies in wildfire in Turkiye's Antalya

One person died after suffering a heart attack during a wildfire in Turkiye’s southern Antalya province.

Axar.az reports, citing NTV, efforts to contain forest fires in Antalya, Adana and Mersin are continuing.

Turkiye’s General Directorate of Forestry (OGM), under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, said the forest fires in Antalya’s Kumluca district and Mersin’s Bozyazi district had been largely brought under control, adding, “Our efforts to completely extinguish the fires are continuing.”

The OGM also reported that the fire in Antalya’s Aksu district had weakened, while firefighting efforts by air and land continued in Adana’s Kozan district.

Antalya Aksu Mayor Isa Yildirim announced said in a post on X, that one person died after suffering a heart attack after being affected by smoke during the fire.
