The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has denied claims by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that it struck two U.S. Navy destroyers operating in the Middle East.

Axar.az reports that CENTCOM made the announcement on X.

"Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces have claimed they struck two U.S. Navy destroyers operating in the Middle East. This is completely FALSE," the statement reads.

CENTCOM added that U.S. forces had destroyed 10 Iranian tankers over the past week, saying the vessels were part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC.

"No U.S. Navy warship has been struck; all IRGC attempted attacks failed. Meanwhile, U.S. forces have successfully destroyed 10 Iranian tankers in just the last week. These vessels were part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC, and Iran cannot defend them," the statement added.

It should be noted that, earlier this morning, the IRGC said it had targeted two U.S. vessels, eight oil tankers, and 10 other vessels sailing under foreign flags.
