EU approves €4.93 billion in support for Ukraine

The Council of the European Union has approved €4.93 billion in funding measures to support Ukraine’s military needs through the European Peace Facility (EPF).

Axar.az reports the decisions provide for €4.7 billion in partial reimbursements to EU member states for military assistance already delivered to Ukraine, as well as an additional €230 million for the EU Military Assistance Mission in Support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine), which provides military training to Ukrainian personnel.

Following the latest decisions, the EU’s total support for Ukraine through the EPF has reached €10.8 billion. Of this amount, €9.9 billion is allocated to reimbursing member states for military aid delivered to Ukraine, while €950 million supports military training under EUMAM Ukraine.

The Council reaffirmed the EU’s continued support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders amid Russia’s war of aggression.
