Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has said that expecting Washington to change its behavior or end its hostility toward Iran through concessions is a mistake.
Axar.az reports that in a written message marking November 4, he referred to the US midterm elections and the Democrats' victory in Congress, saying that changes in political parties and factions would not alter Washington's approach toward Iran.
“If there are still those who have even the slightest hope that the behavior of the hegemonic system will change as a result of shifts between political parties and factions, or who believe that by making concessions to the United States they can persuade it to abandon its hostility toward the Iranian nation, they are gravely mistaken,” Khamenei said.
He stated said that such an illusion shows ingratitude for the great victories that the Muslim people of Iran have achieved through faith, perseverance and struggle.
"The Great Satan seeks the unconditional surrender of the Iranian people. Even the slightest inclination toward submission to this domineering enemy would squander the immense gains achieved through the blood of martyrs and the sacrifices of the entire nation, while emboldening the arrogant enemy to make further demands and launch new wars and acts of aggression," Khamenei warned.
