Over 47,000 Karabakh Armenians granted Armenian citizenship

As of November 1, a total of 32,690 adults and 14,344 minors (with parental consent) had obtained Armenian citizenship.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, Armenian Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan announced the figures during parliamentary discussions on the draft state budget for 2027.

She said that 53,039 applications for Armenian citizenship had so far been submitted by people who voluntarily relocated from Karabakh.

“Of these, 47,034 applications, including those concerning children, have been approved,” Sargsyan said.

It should be noted that several NGOs representing the interests of people who voluntarily relocated from Karabakh had previously complained about delays in granting them Armenian citizenship.
