Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and Chief of General Staff General Yasar Guler left for Erbil after Baghdad as part of a visit to Iraq.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the Turkish National Defense Ministry.

According to the report, they met in Erbil with the former leader of the Iraqi Kurdish Autonomy and chairman of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani.

H.Akar said he was pleased to be in Erbil at the meeting:

"We will have the opportunity to discuss our problems with our Iraqi brothers, the people of the region and Turkey. I believe we can solve the problems together."
