Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants to expand his influence in Africa.

Axar.az reports this was stated by the French newspaper Le Monde in an article on Erdogan's visit to Angola.

The article draws attention to the fact that Erdogan's visit to Africa took place two months before the third Turkey-Africa Summit to be held in Istanbul in December.

"Today, Turkey is pursuing a full-strength policy that combines soft power (trade, Islamic culture and NGOs) and hard power (arms sales)," said Dorothy Schmidt, Middle East program manager at the French Institute of International Affairs.
