Over the past two days, the Azerbaijani media has been of the opinion that Iran's claims have been silenced as a result of official Baku's toughness and its alliance with Turkey. But this is not the only reason. In fact, everything is very simple and clear.

Axar.az reports that Russian historian Oleg Kuznetsov shared these views.

According to him, today Iran is facing famine due to the drought, and it needs 8 million tons of grain to survive, and another 4 million tons of grain to create reserves and the Seed Fund for next year.

"Today, the main supplier of grain to Iran is Russia, and the Islamic Republic has already received about 3.5 million tons of grain from this country.

The only transport corridor for such large-scale supplies is through Azerbaijan, and if the conflict escalated, this route could be closed to Iran. In this case, the price of bread in Iran would rise sharply, and Tehran understands this very well.

Iran understood that without "Russian bread" it would not be possible to have a long-term conflict, because Russia has no "nice" talks with Tehran. The grain is paid to Russia in advance, and then the grain leaves for Iran. It's that simple.

"Therefore, Tehran has consciously made its choice - peace with Baku and a ban on its trucks traveling from Armenia to Karabakh, instead using a stable and comfortable Azerbaijani transport corridor for Russian grain," he said.
