Germany summons Russian Ambassador over cyberattacks

Germany has accused Russia of conducting a cyber campaign aimed at destabilizing European countries and announced additional measures in response.

Axar.az reports that the German government said Russia has been formally identified as being behind a series of cyberattacks targeting Germany, EU member states, and Ukraine.

German officials described the cyberattacks as unacceptable and said Berlin would respond decisively, including by imposing additional sanctions.

The government also announced that the Russian ambassador had been summoned to the Foreign Ministry, where Germany once again conveyed its position on the alleged cyber campaign.

It should be noted that, in response to the large-scale cyber campaign targeting its member states, the European Union has imposed sanctions on nine individuals and four entities.

Earlier, France also announced its decision to summon the Russian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry over the alleged cyber campaign.
