Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou's speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Surmene World Pontus Hellenism Palace, which is planned to be built in the Hellenic-Agrirupoli district of Athens, regrets the baseless statements about our recent history.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

"These allegations do not change the fact that Greece is trying to invade Anatolia and that the Greek army has committed atrocities against humanity, especially innocent civilians in Western Anatolia. "Under Article 59 of the treaty, Greece was obliged to pay damages for its actions contrary to the laws of war," the statement said.

It is said that Greece's frequent false accusations overshadow the steps taken to create an atmosphere of sincere and honest dialogue between the two countries to resolve the problems:

"Such attitudes and behaviours do not meet the expectations of government officials. In this context, we call on Greece to regain common sense and constructive understanding."
