An important law has been ratified by the countries of the European Union, which will ensure that all new cars sold from 2035 will have zero carbon dioxide emissions.
Axar.az reports that the new law was expected to make it impossible to sell cars with internal combustion engines in the EU from 2035. However, the exemption Germany won will help those with traditional cars. For this, electronic fuels must be produced on a large scale.
According to the European Commission, passenger cars and vans are responsible for around 12 and 2.5 percent of the EU's total emissions of CO2, the main greenhouse gas, respectively. Earlier this month, the UN warned that the world could miss its target to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
