Salahaddin Demirdash, the imprisoned co-chairman of the People's Democratic Party, has distanced himself from active politics.

"I sincerely apologize for not being able to conduct a policy worthy of our people. I promise that I will correct these shortcomings with my practical efforts.

Also, thank you for the constructive criticism of me. I will try to take advantage of the criticism. While continuing the struggle like all my fellow prisoners, I am leaving active politics at this stage," S. Demirdash said.
