NATO believes that each state can choose its path. The alliance has many partners, and Azerbaijan is among them.

Axar.az reports that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this in an interview with Azerbaijan State Television (AzTV) on March 18.

"By the way, Azerbaijan has no intention of joining NATO. This country is outside of all military alliances. We respect Azerbaijan's sovereign decision. But, of course, when it comes to countries like Finland and Sweden, these countries have refused a neutral position. In this case, let the alliance the doors are open, and this does not mean that NATO is aggressively expanding to the East. It means that the countries located in the east of NATO want to be part of the organization, and we accept them as our allies," Stoltenberg said.
