The information that Telegram is under the control of the Russian authorities is spread by people who do not know the history of its creation.
Axar.az reports that Pavel Durov, CEO of Telegram, said this in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.
"This can be said by people who have very limited knowledge of how Telegram was created. And our competitors who want to discredit us can encourage those who spread this information because Telegram is spreading like wildfire," he said.
Durov also spoke about the control of US special services:
"No matter where we are in the United States, the FBI and the security services pay too much attention to us. Whenever I go to the US, FBI agents meet me at the airport and ask questions. One time I was having breakfast at 9:00 and the FBI came to my rental house. They knew that I left Russia. They knew what we were doing, but they wanted the details. I also refused to do business in the US after being attacked by robbers in San Francisco. From other countries, I stayed away from Germany, England and Singapore because of the bureaucracy. That's why our office is now in Dubai."
According to Durov, the main pressure on Telegram comes not from governments, but from Apple and Google:
"These two platforms can censor everything you can read on your smartphone."
In this context, he emphasized that iPhones and Androids are not safe.
