Currently, peacekeepers are not needed in Karabakh.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Russian State Duma, Alexey Zhuravlev when expressing his opinion on the premature withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from Azerbaijan.

According to him, it can be said that the mission of the Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh has ended:

"It was possible to protect the civilians, they were helped. Currently, peacekeepers are not needed, because there are no opposing sides in Karabakh. "There is no doubt that Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan."
