Two people suspected of spying for Russia and preparing sabotage were detained in Germany.

Axar.az reports that "Der Spiegel" magazine published information about this.

Dieter S., a 39-year-old German-born Russian and Alexander J., a 37-year-old German-born Russian from Bavaria, were detained. Since October 2023, Dieter S. has been exchanging information with Russian intelligence services regarding the sabotage in Germany. He agreed to arson and explosions in military infrastructure, defence plants and industrial facilities," the report said.

The magazine claims that its target was the transport routes used for transporting military cargo:

"In addition, Dieter S. visited the US military facilities in Germany, took photos and transferred the relevant photo materials to Russia."

The German prosecutor's office accused Dieter S. of secret activity for intelligence and sabotage, and Alexander J. of secret cooperation with special services.

Both were taken into custody.
