A forest fire has broken out in the area of the "Drina" National Park in the Poljanci-Stari Grad municipality of Srebrenica, Bosnia, and Herzegovina.

Axar.az reports that the fire has spread over a large area due to strong winds. The blaze poses a threat to nearby farms, and some buildings have burned down.

The Director of the National Park, Radomir Pavlović, said that a helicopter from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, firefighting brigades, and local residents intervened throughout the day to combat the flames.

The director has appealed for additional assistance to save the spruce plantations.
