The Armenian government planned to buy 2,500 drones

The Armenian government (Sargsyan's government - editor's note) had prepared a plan to purchase nearly 2,500 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the rearmament of the Armenian Armed Forces.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Hayk Mamijanyan, a member of the Armenian parliament's opposition "I Have Honor" faction, who is considered one of former President Serzh Sargsyan’s close associates.

According to him, half of the mentioned UAVs were planned to be delivered to Yerevan in 2020:

"All of them were to be presented to the Armenian army. Then, for an unknown reason, Nikol Pashinyan suddenly made a change in the army's armament plan. Instead of UAVs, he purchased SU-30 fighter jets that were not used in the Second Karabakh War. If Pashinyan is apologizing to the people, he should apologize for this."

It should be noted that N. Pashinyan has stated that the Armenian people have chosen the idea of a "Real Armenia." He also apologized, claiming that the opposition had forced Armenians to live in the past for many years.
