Israel Rеportedly Has a Four-Part Plan to Divide Iran

Axar.az reports that a foreign media article claims Israel has a project aimed at dividing Iran into four parts.

According to the article, U.S.-based think tanks and certain figures in the European Parliament support a plan advocating for Iran’s ethnic fragmentation.

The Washington-based Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) considers Iran’s multi-ethnic structure a weakness, emphasizing the importance of fueling separatist movements in Kurdish and Baloch regions.

Support for Israel’s Plan

Sources from the prominent U.S. Quincy Institute claim that the West is playing with fire regarding Iran. According to the institute, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a secret plan on his desk that includes offering security guarantees and promoting independence for Sunni, Kurdish, and Baloch regions as part of an effort to fragment Iran.

The European Parliament recently hosted a conference titled "The Future of Iran", where only separatist speakers from Iran’s Baloch and Ahvaz (Arab) regions were invited — suggesting that some EU circles may be taking the idea of Iran’s fragmentation seriously.

Unrealistic Vision

However, intelligence experts argue that Iran, with a population of nearly 90 million, a deep-rooted history, and strong national identity, is not a country that can easily be broken apart like Syria or former Yugoslavia.

In an article in the Los Angeles Times, Iran expert and academic Shervin Malekzadeh wrote that Iranian politics has developed around a consistent sense of national identity for over a millennium. He stated that Western hopes for disintegration are unrealistic.

Intelligence sources also noted that following Israeli attacks, instead of growing separatist sentiment in Iran's north, there was a surge in unity under the national flag. The fact that both Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian are of Azerbaijani origin and that the Turkish-speaking community is integrated into state structures is cited as clear evidence of national cohesion.

A Catastrophe for the Region

Intelligence experts consider Israel’s plan detached from reality and warn that Iran’s fragmentation would endanger even U.S. allies in the region. Turkey would strongly oppose any Kurdish separatist movement in Iran due to its own PKK issue. Pakistan would see any unrest in Iranian Balochistan as a threat to its national security, considering its long struggle with Baloch separatism. India fears that instability in Iran could disrupt communication through the Chabahar Port, which is vital for connecting to Afghanistan and Central Asia.

Experts believe efforts to divide Iran would push Russia and China into a stronger anti-Western alliance.

Europe’s Looming Risk

Experts also warn that the disintegration of Iran could cause an even larger refugee wave than that seen in Syria, creating a new immigration crisis for Europe. It would also spark a crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting global oil supply routes — severely impacting European economies.
