Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s proposal to move the capital from Tehran will not be realized.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the head of Tehran city council, Mehdi Chamran.

He mentioned that rather than moving the capital, it would be more appropriate to distribute ministries, departments, and organizations across various cities of the country.

"Although different governments have repeatedly raised the issue of moving the capital from Tehran to another city, no concrete results have been achieved," Chamran said.

It should be noted that Masoud Pezeshkian proposed relocating the country’s political and economic centers to the southern borders of the republic, to the shores of the Persian Gulf.
