Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the United States and his meetings here have several objectives. Firstly, Zelensky will explain to the international community at the United Nations General Assembly how Kyiv envisions ways to stop the war. Although he has not disclosed the details of his stated "Peace Plan," it is about ending Russia's occupation, which implies the continuation of the war.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in an analysis by the "Atlas" Research Center.

The analysis notes that while Zelensky's visit to the U.S. is ongoing, the Russian army is attempting to expand its occupation in eastern Ukraine:

"Despite this, the Ukrainian president remains optimistic. For instance, in an interview with ABC, Volodymyr Zelensky stated, 'the end of the war is closer than many think.' This means Zelensky has expressed confidence in restoring his country's territorial integrity. However, for this to happen, Western countries must continue to provide financial and military support to Ukraine."

Secondly, Vladimir Zelensky will try to convince U.S. President Joseph Biden during their meeting that Washington should allow the Ukrainian army to strike deep into Russia using American missiles. In principle, the Biden administration is close to making a positive decision. European countries, including the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, have permitted Ukraine to use the weapons they provided to target areas inside Russia.

The analysis notes that Zelensky has a third mission during his visit to the U.S.:

"He will meet with presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Zelensky's main objective in these meetings is to ensure that the new occupant of the White House, should either of these candidates win, does not stop military aid to Ukraine. There should not be serious issues regarding Kamala Harris; she will continue Biden's foreign and security policy. The main danger lies with Donald Trump. He has promised that if he regains the White House, he will halt financial and military support for Ukraine. Zelensky will try to dissuade Trump from this wrong step. Of course, Trump will listen to Zelensky, but it is hard to say whether he will change his position. Not long ago, Trump referred to Zelensky as a 'beggar' and is against spending money on the war in Europe."

It is reported that while in the U.S., Vladimir Zelensky also held other bilateral meetings:

"Zelensky met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the second time in a month. Modi is also participating in the UN General Assembly session, and during their meeting, he reiterated India's readiness to cooperate in upholding international law principles, including respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states, as outlined in the UN Charter. Zelensky and Modi agreed on the appropriateness of conducting closer bilateral dialogue on this matter. Modi also stated that India is prepared to contribute in every possible way to help restore peace quickly. They discussed the possibility of holding the second Peace Summit regarding Ukraine in India. Although Zelensky emphasized the possibility of inviting Russia to the summit, the Kremlin has already declared that it will not participate."
