Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin visited the 102nd military base of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.

Axar.az reports that the Russian embassy in Armenia has released information about this.

It was reported that the ambassador also visited the Leninakan detachment of the Border Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and also participated in the opening of the exhibition "Education in Russia: Gyumri 2024" of Russian universities in the city of Gyumri.

It should be noted that Kopyrkin's visit drew attention in light of news that Russian border guards will withdraw from the Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Russia borders by January 1, 2025, and that they will be stationed in this area due to the Zangezur corridor.
