A briefing was organized by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company on the second day of the Pre-COP event hosted by the COP29 Presidency in Baku on October 10-11 and attended by global climate leaders and stakeholders.

Axar.az reports that a number of high-level guests participated in the event, which provides detailed information to the Pre-COP participants about the progress of the multifaceted preparation process for the COP29 conference to be held in Baku in November this year, the works carried out in this framework and the issues and priorities ahead.

At the briefing, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company and the Chief Executive Officer for Operations, Narmin Jarchalova, who first gave a welcoming speech, emphasized that the world's most important climate conference is only a few days away, and that the preparatory processes are at the final stage and operations in all directions are being carried out according to the relevant calendar. brought to attention. He said:

"The construction of Baku Stadium, the venue of the event, is in the final stage of completion. It is planned to transfer the space to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change by November." N. Predominance of sustainability principles at all stages of operations was particularly emphasized in the briefing. Thus, it was brought to attention that the requirements of sustainability, affordability and inclusiveness are fully observed in the venue, and the steps taken to create a completely inclusive environment in order to ensure sustainable operations in the stadium.

Speaking later, Ismayil Isayev, a member of the Coordinating Council of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, gave extensive information about the processes and services organized in the event space and the Baku city area, the conditions and opportunities created in the field of hospitality, as well as conference and media services, in order to ensure a positive visitor experience during COP29. . Isayev touched on the accreditation and registration processes applied in order to ensure the most positive impressions and comfort of the numerous delegations and guests visiting the country, the procedure for obtaining a special COP29 visa, initiatives that facilitate navigation and information in the city, as well as a number of other organizational and technical issues. covered procedures and portals that facilitate the solution.

Shahla Abbekirova, another member of the Coordinating Council of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, spoke about the Summit of World Leaders on Climate Action, which will take place in the first days of the conference, and brought to the attention of the briefing participants the details of the main events and organizational aspects of the meetings to be held on these dates. Sh. Abbekirova announced the planning of the entire route of the leaders of many world countries who will visit Baku to participate in this event, starting from the airport, as well as the offered services, as well as the Summit program.

Speaking later, Orkhan Mahmudlu, director of the Transport and Airline Operations Department of the Azerbaijan Operating Company, emphasized that one of the important aspects in the successful organization of the COP29 global conference is the implementation of an organized transport scheme. O. Mahmudlu pointed out that a number of successive measures have been implemented in the mentioned direction and presented the newly created interactive city map to the guests. He said that in order to ensure the smooth movement of numerous visitors during the conference, and at the same time to protect the comfort of the capital's residents, dozens of transport hubs will operate at strategic points of the city, and regular activities of various vehicles such as taxis, buses, and transfers will be organized. He also touched upon the planning and security measures taken to facilitate the travel of the delegations to the COP29 venue.
