NIS assessing possible younger sibling of Kim Ju Ae

South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) said Thursday that it is continuing to assess whether North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has another child, a younger sibling of his daughter Kim Ju-ae.

Axar.az reports, citing South Korean media, that the NIS said it has identified intelligence indicating that Kim Ju-ae may have a younger sibling whose gender has not been confirmed. The agency said it is still working to verify the child’s existence and details.

The intelligence agency also said that even if Kim Ju-ae has an older brother, it does not currently believe he would be in a position to succeed Kim Jong Un.

Kim Ju-ae, believed to have been born in 2013, first appeared publicly with her father in November 2022 during coverage of a North Korean missile launch. The NIS has previously assessed her as the leading potential successor and said she was receiving succession-related training.
