The era of Washington and Brussels' hegemony is coming to an end.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of the Russian State Duma.

"Countries are choosing the path of equal dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation not to please the U.S. and its allies, but in the interests of their people. The future lies with BRICS, which has already become the largest economic center," Volodin said.

The speaker noted that Serbia considers joining BRICS as an alternative to the European Union, as it does not view the EU as a partner:

"More and more countries are realizing that BRICS represents the prospects and guarantees of a multipolar world. The participants and observers of the association are not subjected to blackmail, absurd conditions for cooperation are not imposed on them, and, unlike the European Union, they do not interfere in these countries' sovereign affairs. Washington and Brussels' policies, as we can see, have led to the opposite effect."
