About a thousand residents of the Ovens-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France were evacuated due to severe flooding caused by incessant downpours.

Axar.az reports particularly at risk is the commune of Jivors near Lyon, where a dam could collapse.

Regional authorities have mobilized a large number of rescuers and a large number of equipment to overcome the consequences of the floods.

Most schools in the area will be closed on Friday. It is not excluded that there will be problems in the work of public transport.
