Kemi Seba, known for his struggle for the rights of African peoples, has been released from custody in France.
Axar.az reports that, citing Repоrt, Seba was detained not by police officers in Paris, but by French intelligence services.
He faced accusations of collaborating with foreign entities, which could have led to a prison sentence of up to 30 years. However, no evidence was presented in court to support these charges.
It should be noted that Seba was arrested on October 15 by French intelligence in Paris. He is recognized as a symbolic leader of the movement for Africa's independence and sovereignty and actively fights against neo-colonialism. He is also one of the main critics of French neo-colonialism.
Seba was born in 1981 in Strasbourg, France. In 2024, the French government stripped him of citizenship for openly criticizing the damage caused by France's colonial policies in African countries and for supporting movements for the independence of France's overseas territories.
The French authorities have repeatedly arrested Seba in an attempt to force him to retract his position.
In response to losing his French citizenship, the President of Niger appointed Seba as a special advisor, and several African countries granted him a diplomatic passport.
Seba has a wide audience on various social media platforms, boasting 1.3 million followers on Facebook, 370,000 on TikTok, 306,000 on Instagram, 280,000 on X, and 230,000 on YouTube.
