Sybiha accuses Russia of seeking to prolong war

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aide’s statement that the United States should stop supporting Ukraine to bring the war to an earlier end reveals Russia’s true intentions.

Axar.az reports that Sybiha made the remarks in a post on X.

“Putin’s aide said that the United States should end all its support for Ukraine to speed up the end of the war. In fact, he laid bare Russia’s true intentions: instead of genuine diplomacy, Moscow wants to continue the war without interruption,” he said.

He accused Russian elites of living in a “parallel world” alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying they would rather continue the war and suffer heavy economic losses than end a conflict they cannot win.

“Only stronger pressure can cure Russian delusions and finally bring them to the negotiating table,” Sybiha said.
