Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to Cairo yesterday evening to hold talks with Egyptian officials.

Axar.az informs that this information was reported by the Jerusalem Post.

"Tensions are high regarding the nature of Israel's expected response to Iran following the missile attack on October 1.

Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated on Wednesday that after visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Lebanon, and other countries, Araghchi is heading to important discussions with senior Egyptian officials scheduled for Thursday," the publication reported.

On October 17, 2024, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Cairo to address the volatile situation in the Middle East. Al-Sisi stressed the importance of curbing hostilities to prevent a wider regional conflict.

Araghchi expressed a willingness to explore improved relations between Egypt and Iran. The minister’s visit, part of a broader diplomatic tour, reflects a rare step toward dialogue between the two countries amidst growing fears of military escalation involving Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran.

Egypt has recently intensified its diplomatic outreach, seeking to mediate the region's crises.
