Earthquake damages 555 buildings in Turkiye

A severe earthquake that occurred yesterday in Turkiye has damaged 555 buildings.

Axar.az reports that the country's Minister of Ecology and Urbanization, Murad Kurum, provided this information.

The minister stated that as a result of the earthquake, 20 buildings in Elazig suffered severe damage, while 517 buildings were lightly damaged.

"Additionally, 18 buildings in Malatya also sustained light damage," he noted.

It is worth mentioning that a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Qala district of Malatya province yesterday. The tremors were felt in surrounding areas as well.
