Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has charged India with committing a "massive mistake" that Canada cannot overlook if New Delhi was responsible for the death of a Sikh separatist leader on Canadian soil last year.

Axar.az reports, citing BBC, Trudeau's remarks came just two days after Canadian officials implicated India in homicides, extortion, and other violent actions against Indian dissidents in Canada.

Following these allegations made on Monday, both nations expelled senior diplomats, escalating already heightened tensions. India has dismissed the accusations as “preposterous” and accused Trudeau of seeking political advantage by appealing to Canada’s significant Sikh population.
