THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) is the most advanced and powerful missile defense system of the United States.

This system, developed by "Lockheed Martin" in 1992, was tested for the first time in 1995.

THAAD is the only US system designed to intercept targets outside or inside the atmosphere, specifically hypersonic missiles. THAAD is capable of intercepting enemy missiles in their final phase of flight or as they bounce towards the target. For example, "Fattah-1" ballistic missiles, which Iran used against Israel on October 1, first move into the atmosphere, then change direction and aim at the target. THAAD systems are also adept at intercepting these types of missiles. Lockheed Martin, the manufacturer of the system, says that they are effective against ballistic missiles.

THAAD operates at a distance of up to 200 kilometers and at an altitude of 100-150 kilometers, which makes this system extremely impressive. These systems make it possible to work even at the Karman line, which is 100 kilometers above the Earth's surface, that is, the point where space begins.
