German and Turkish authorities have different views on the conflict in the Middle East.

Axar.az reports that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this at a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"It's no secret that we have different views," said Scholz.

Scholz reiterated Israel's right to protect itself from the threats of the Hamas movement, along with respect for international law. The chancellor noted that, despite this, Germany and Turkiye are in favor of de-escalation, ceasefire and political solution to prevent the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.

"We need a reliable political process for a two-state solution," he stressed.
