The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) apologized this morning for striking a Lebanese army checkpoint in southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to 18 others.

Axar.az reports that the statement was released by IDF.

It was noted that the incident occurred in an area where ongoing battles against the Hezbollah terrorist organization are taking place:

"The Israel Defense Forces regret the incident and clarify that their operations are aimed at the Hezbollah terrorist organization, not the Lebanese army."
