Sweden has requested that a Chinese vessel move into its waters to assist with the investigation into recent breaches of undersea fiber-optic cables in the Baltic Sea.

Axar.az reports that, citing Reuters,Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said this on Tuesday.

Denmark's military had reported last week that it was monitoring the Chinese bulk carrier, Yi Peng 3, which was stationary in international waters but within Denmark's exclusive economic zone.

Kristersson confirmed that Sweden had made contact with both the ship and China, asking the vessel to move toward Swedish waters.
