Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has requested Iraq to mediate in talks with Turkiye, but Baghdad has not responded.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the opposition Syria TV.

It is reported that Assad sent a security team to Antalya to conduct talks with the Turkish side.

It should be noted that previously, Turkish President Erdoğan had repeatedly expressed Turkiye’s readiness for direct talks with the Syrian side but had not received a positive response from the other side.

It is also worth mentioning that the "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" group has taken control of Idlib and Aleppo and is attacking Hama.

Free Syrian Army (Syrian National Army) has begun operations against the PKK and, after years, reclaimed Tel Rifaat from the terrorists.
