Qatar could cut gas supplies to the EU if the European Union passes a law that would impose fines on companies that do not meet greenhouse gas emissions requirements.

Axar.az reports that Qatar's Minister of Energy Saad Al Kaabi said this.

"If I'm going to lose 5% of my income shipping to Europe, I'm not going to ship there. I'm not bluffing. 5% of Qatar Energy's revenue is 5% of Qatar's revenue. This is the people's money and I cannot afford to lose it. "No one can come to terms with the loss of such money," he said.

It should be noted that according to the law that will come into force in 2027, companies may be fined 5% of their annual revenue. The goal of the law is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero in Europe by 2050.
