We had a comprehensive meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and discussed the future of Syria.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by the leader of the new government in Syria, Ahmad al-Shara (Abu Mohammad Julani - ed.).

"We attach importance to the economic cooperation between Turkiye and Syria. Turkiye, a friendly country, has been with the Syrian people since the beginning of the revolution, we will not forget that," Shara said.

He also noted that sanctions against Syria should be removed.

"Bashar Assad is gone. Innocent people should not be punished here."
