Pope Francis, 88, sustained an arm injury on Thursday following a fall at his residence, the Vatican reported.

Axar.az, citing ABC News, reports that "Earlier this morning, Pope Francis fell at the Santa Marta house and suffered a bruise to his right forearm, without any fractures," read the Vatican's statement, issued in Italian. "As a precaution, the arm has been immobilized."

A photo released by the Vatican showed the pontiff with his arm supported by a soft sling.
