North Korea has restarted its 5MW reactor at Yongbyon after a 60-day shutdown, likely to refuel and begin a new operational cycle, according to IAEA chief Rafael Grossi.

Axar.az, citing NK news, reports that the UN watchdog also observed signs of preparations for a new reprocessing campaign and confirmed ongoing uranium enrichment activities at Yongbyon and Kangson.

Grossi expressed deep regret over North Korea’s nuclear developments, calling them violations of UN Security Council resolutions.

Additionally, a light water reactor at Yongbyon remains operational, and North Korea's Punggye-ri nuclear test site appears to be maintained for potential future use.
