Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan, head of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Russian and New Nakhchivan Diocese, with the Order of Alexander Nevsky.

Axar.az reports that the corresponding decree has been published on the legal information portal.

Nersisyan received the award for his significant contributions to the work of the Presidential Council for Religious Organizations.

It is worth noting that New Nakhchivan (Nakhchivan-Don) is located near Rostov-on-Don.
