China is strengthening its military capabilities in preparation for a potential conflict over Taiwan, positioning itself as the United States' primary strategic rival.

Axar.az reports that the U.S. National Intelligence Agency's latest assessment highlights China’s advancements in hypersonic weapons, stealth aircraft, advanced submarines, space and cyber defense systems, and its expanding nuclear arsenal.

"Beijing remains committed to developing ties with Washington under President Donald Trump’s administration to advance its interests and prevent conflict. However, in light of a possible military confrontation with the U.S. over Taiwan, China is significantly bolstering its defense capabilities," the report states.
