China launched joint military exercises around Taiwan, involving the army, navy, and rocket forces, as a "stern warning" against Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te, whom they labeled a "parasite."

Axar.az, citing Reuters, reports that this follows Lai's recent comments labeling Beijing a "foreign hostile force."

The exercises, which include combat readiness patrols, targeting maritime and land areas, and imposing blockades, are seen as a response to Taiwan's rejection of Beijing's sovereignty claims.

The move coincides with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's visit to the region. Taiwan condemned the drills, asserting its ability to defend itself, while the U.S. reaffirmed its support for Taiwan.
