The International Criminal Court (ICC) sent a confidential request to Hungary to arrest and surrender Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly after his arrival in the country.

Axar.az, citing The Times of Israel, reports that The request stems from an arrest warrant approved in November 2024 for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the Gaza conflict.

Instead of complying, Hungary announced it would withdraw from the ICC, signaling its refusal to cooperate.

The charges include targeting civilians and obstructing humanitarian aid during the Gaza war. Israel has strongly denied the allegations, and Netanyahu remains at large.
