Russia considers the planned contacts between the US and Iran in Oman a positive step towards reducing tensions over the Iranian nuclear dossier.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, while commenting on the talks to be held in Oman.

According to him, Moscow unconditionally supports the start of the negotiation process and is in favor of a political-diplomatic settlement:

“We have repeatedly said that we are in favor of settling the problem of the Iranian nuclear dossier through political-diplomatic measures. If this is the case, this can only be welcomed positively.”

It should be noted that the first stage of contacts between the US and Iranian delegations will take place in Oman on April 12.
